Unique perspectives
The compact 14 mm wide-angle lens from Samyang creates unique shots. The wide-angle lens captures more than the standard lens at the same subject distance. The 14/2.8 wide-angle lens is suitable for the full range of wide-angle photography, but especially for landscape and indoor photography. The distinct impression of depth in the wide-angle shots offers room for creative photography.
Enormous distance and great depth of field
The lens has a short focal length to take advantage of the APS-C image sensor. With a closest focusing distance of just 28 cm, the manually focusable wide-angle lens is particularly suitable for sharp, high-contrast images at close range. Thanks to the excellent lens speed of 1:2.8, optimal shots are possible even in unfavourable light conditions.
High-quality optics
The outstanding imaging performance is due to the sophisticated optical system. This consists of two aspherical ED lenses (Extra Low Dispersion), which reduce chromatic aberration. This results in photographs with a well-balanced colour balance. The fixed lens hood also prevents the disturbing incidence of light from the side and lens reflections that would lead to a loss of contrast.
Lens with AE chip
The lens has a built-in AE chip and no longer has a separate aperture priority ring. This makes it possible to select the aperture from the camera, either via the control dial or automatically in P mode. All EXIF data is transferred to the camera and saved with the image.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
