Description
The Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 was Canon’s standard, mass-produced kit lens for many of its FD-mount SLR cameras like the AE-1, A-1, and T-series. Known for being affordable, lightweight, and optically excellent for its price, it became one of the most common lenses of its era. Several versions exist, including early ‘S.C.’ (Spectra Coated) breech-lock types and later ‘New FD’ bayonet-mount versions which were even more compact. Later versions likely featured S.S.C. or similar coatings.
