Description
The Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 S.C. was a popular wide-angle prime lens for the Canon FD system, introduced in the early 1970s. The ‘S.C.’ stands for Spectra Coating, Canon’s single-layer coating technology used before the widespread adoption of S.S.C. (Super Spectra Coating). It offered a useful wide field of view suitable for landscapes, street photography, and interiors. Compared to faster f/2 or f/1.8 wide angles, the f/2.8 version provided a good balance of performance, size, weight, and affordability. This is likely the earlier breech-lock version.
