Description
The Canon FD 50mm f/1.2 is a highly sought-after standard prime lens for the FD system, prized for its exceptionally wide maximum aperture. This allows for shooting in very low light conditions and achieving extremely shallow depth of field for portraiture and artistic effects. Introduced in 1980 as part of the ‘New FD’ series (featuring the bayonet mount), it replaced the older breech-lock f/1.2 version. Despite its speed, it maintained good sharpness, especially when stopped down slightly.
