Description

The Leica Hektor 135mm f/4.5 was a long-running telephoto lens produced by Leitz for their screw mount (LTM/M39) rangefinder cameras, starting in the 1930s and continuing into the 1960s. Later versions were also available in Leica M bayonet mount or could be easily adapted. It’s a relatively simple optical design (Hektor type, related to triplets) known for being compact for its focal length, especially in early collapsible or non-focusing mount versions (used with Visoflex reflex housings). While not as highly corrected as later Elmar or Elmarit designs, it can produce pleasingly sharp images with classic rendering, especially when stopped down.
