Designed for photography and videography
This lens from Samyang was developed to meet the high demands of video and photography enthusiasts. The aperture is continuously adjustable from 1.5 to 22, and the focus adjustment is soft and smooth. This allows for smooth tracking of the focus, especially when shooting video. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a toothed ring and are thus optimised for use with follow focus systems, making them easier to use when filming. For better legibility, the distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side.
Versatile portrait focal length for moving and still images
The Samyang 85/1.5 lens is the ideal focal length for portrait photography, allowing a wide variety of compositional possibilities in creative photography and filming. The lens is particularly suitable for reportage photography. It has a focal length of 85 mm. The excellent light intensity of 1:1.5 enables outstanding shots even in less favourable light conditions.
High quality workmanship
The lens is constructed to a very high quality. The metal housing is very robust and impresses with its noble appearance. The glass lenses of the lens are coated and thus produce an excellent contrast and sharpness range as well as a well-balanced colour balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimal image results. The lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections from the side.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
