XEEN stands for grandiose imaging performance and exceptional mechanical workmanship. The entire XEEN Cinema range from Samyang is designed to meet the special needs of film producers. Robust materials, uniform design and decoupled aperture and follow focus gears are just a few points that reflect the high demands placed on a video lens.
The fast 135/2.2 XEEN Cinema lens is full-frame compatible, internal focusing, and versatile due to its relatively wide angle of view. Like all XEEN Cinema lenses, the XEEN 135/2.2 resolves at 4K and is identical in design to the other lenses in this line. This means that the overall length, body diameter and the fixed spacing of the aperture and focus rings are exactly the same for all models. This means that changing lenses, whether in a rig or on a tripod, is quick and easy, even with a follow focus system installed. As is usual with cine lenses, this XEEN lens also features a rasterless and continuously adjustable aperture with laterally readable aperture values and distance scale as well as gear rings for focusing using Follow Focus

High-quality mechanics and workmanship
Of course, the 135/2.2 XEEN can not only be used with cameras that have a full-frame sensor. Filming is also absolutely no problem with Super-35 mm, APS-C and APS-H camera sensors. The sharpness performance of this lens is already convincing when the aperture is fully open and can be precisely controlled via the 200ﾰ long focus.
The lens construction of 11 lenses in 7 groups is built into a robust aluminium barrel. The necessary settings on the follow focus or aperture ring are infinitely variable and can be attached to all follow focus systems with a 0.8 mm gear rim. The 11 aperture blades of the 135 mm Cinema lens ensure an almost circular and beautiful bokeh.
